It was just last year at the Elle Women in Television Dinner in LA that I met Priyanka Chopra. Here’s what I knew about her: she was beautiful and she was on the cover of the mag. That was it. What I came to find out was that she is perhaps the biggest star in the world, seen as a demigod in India (a Bollywood legend), and is now continuing her “world domination” (as I call it) here in the states with her hit show, Quantico. Add to the list that she was on the cover of Time Magazine as one of the most influential people in the world, while in the meantime squeezing in a lead role in Baywatch between scenes of her TV series.
And there I sat in her home in Montreal (where the show filmed its first season) eating Cheetos, biryani and a bottle of Tig, thinking, “You?” And I say that because she’s just my girl. So real, so cool, incredibly chill with an infectious laugh, and a drive unlike anyone I’ve ever met. And while she is all of these highly impressive things that one can only dream of having on their résumé, it’s her humanitarian efforts that wow me the most; this year, as the host of the Global Citizen Festival, she will further highlight that passion for all the world to see.
Priyanka and I took a break from our endless eating and boy talk to have a Tig Talk and fill in the blanks on what makes this down-to-earth phenom tick. Thanks, girl! See you soon x
My nickname is: PC / Pri / Priyoncess. Lol take your pick.
The first thing I do when I wake up is: Drink espresso and check my phone.
I can't live without: My loved ones...my phone...and mascara.
If I had one week to escape: I'd go somewhere hot, with someone hot, and be on the beach with a Bellini.
If I only had $10 in my pocket: I would go to an all-you-can-eat buffet!
Everything tastes better with a little: Tabasco.
